Rain warning for homebound cyclists
Contributed by: Gerald R. Whitman, DPD on 6/27/2007

The Denver Police Department has received information from the Office of Emergency Management that the metro area may receive 2 ½ inches of rain in a very short period of time, which may cause some street flooding. Public safety is our number one concern and this being Bike-To-Work day we are concerned about the increased number of cyclist on the roadways.

We ask that all motorist and cyclist be extra careful during their evening commute. Be on the lookout for the other drivers and cyclist. Cyclists riding along the Cherry Creek Bike path need to keep their eyes on the water level, and the potential for flooding as they commute.

We all need to do our part to ensure public safety, if you see a clogged drain or sewer grate call 311 to alert Public Works to the issue.
