RENT A DOG

RENT A DOG

Isn't it more fun watching TV with a warm, loving companion snuggled close by your side? If you are writing a book, having someone you can turn to that has soulful, thoughtful eyes can help you ponder if you should change the title. Cooking a new recipe is much more fun if, with every step, you have to nudge out of the way a warm ball of fur who watching your every move and wanting to sit on your feet. A 4-legged (or even a 3-legged) living "door bell" lets you know if someone steps on the porch or the cat is on the kitchen counter. If you are real lucky, he will chase the squirrels out of the yard. Even better, how about a friend who likes long walks with frequent stops for people admiring your choice of pets?

I have a simple solution: rent a dog. One that is transitioning from a cruel or abandoned life to love and life with a forever family. Transportation, crates, collars, leashes and food are provided. Vet and grooming bills are paid.

The cost to you? You must be willing to treat your rented foster dog like a beloved family member who needs some assistance to become the best housemate and companion possible. It's not possible to lavish too much love and attention on your rented dog nor play with them too much. You must be prepared for people you hardly ever see to stop by to admire and pet your rental. Better have coffee and cookies on hand at all times.

Not just anybody can rent a dog. You need to go to www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org to visit the website and see pictures of the rental dogs. Complete the Foster Application and submit it online or call Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue at 303-617-1939 and talk to Kathryn or John. They'll answer all your questions.

I have to go now. I've rented 3 and they need someone to throw a ball. Warning! This process can be addictive and you may get in better shape with all the activity!
