Ham radio tattoos!
Contributed by: Glenn Pladsen on 4/12/2007

When I was in the Navy I had a friend (also in the Navy) that had a cool tattoo of a colorful eagle, and I always wanted a tattoo but never could decide what to get.

When I turned 40 it was also the 25th year that I was a licensed ham radio operator, so I joined the QCWA (Quarter Century Wireless Association), a radio group for people who have been Amateur Radio operators for 25 years or more.

I took the outline of the QCWA logo to a tattoo shop in Golden and asked for a really colorful rendition of the logo. Wow, it came out great! A couple of years later I joined another exclusive radio organization for people that have used Morse Code professionally (usually in Military or shipboard service).

Again, I took their logo to the same shop in Golden and got another colorful tattoo, this time for the Society of Wireless Pioneers! I also have some of my Amateur Radio callsigns with the logos.
