Rockie's Fanatic!
Contributed by: Marie Zimmerman on 6/19/2008

I have always loved the Rockies. When I was little, starting at age 2, I went to at least one or two Rockies games a season. My parents would buy me Rockies outfits and I would wear them around the house and to the games.

My favorite memory was when Dinger took my Rockies hat off my head, put it on one of his horns, and took off with it. I was only 4 or 5 when this happened and when most kids would have cried, I laughed and chased him. Since then, I have always loved the games even more because I had the chance to say hi to Dinger while I watched the game.

When the Rockies made the run to the World Series during Rocktober, I followed them very closely. I knew everything about the players and the history of the Rockie's team. I watched every game and wore my Tulowitzki shirt all the time. I also took the news paper every morning and cut out the pictures of the Rockies. I collected all of these and then took them to my locker. I had a full locker (ceiling to ground) at my school and I filled the shelves, and door with these Rockie's photos. There was no room left for anything else. I loved it!

I also have a huge cork board that is three feet by two feet in my room. When school got out and I had to take down all of those pictures in my locker, I covered the board with the pictures. I also put the tickets to the one game I have been to this season on their too. At that game I yelled so loud and I was so excited, especially when they won.

I also had a rockies birthday party just a couple months ago. I had a big Rockies cake and I got a lot of other Rockies posters, which are all hanging up in my room along with the schedule which I look at every morining.

I am a ski racer and this year I made it to the Junior Olympics. This race had the best racers from eighteen states. Each racer had to write a biography about themselves and had to write one important thing they wanted every one to know. My one iportant thing was that I love Troy Tulowitzki. They said this on speaker when I came racing down the hill and everybody laughed and I was like,"Yes I do!"

Since the last Rockies game that I went to in April, I have been begging my parents to take me to another one. The one that I went to was at 1:05 p.m. My favorite games are the later ones. I love watching the games at night when all of the big lights are on.

Since my parents have not had time to take me to another game, I have watched every day game on tv and listened to every night game on the radio in my bed. I am now used to falling asleep to the game. I write about every single game in my blog too. I enjoy this a lot, but nothing is like watching it live. It is the best feeling ever, especially if I were to watch it in a suite with my friends and family.
