9 Innings bringing me back 10,000 miles
Contributed by: Josh Rogers on 6/29/2008

I've been going to Rockies games religiously for about nine years - and while we've had our share of bad seasons it's always been a dream of mine to go to a Rockies playoff game. The Rockies NL pennant run last year was incredible. I think the wild card tie-breaker is probably the best baseball game of all time, definitely the best I've ever watched.

Ironically, I was out of the country working in the Democratic Republic of Congo during the entire season. Information was pretty limited but I stayed up on the season the best I could, seeing the team rise into contention towards the end of the year. Around the same time, our work camp got a satellite television installed in one of the tents. While the satellite showed South African TV and sports (soccer, cricket, and rugby all day) to my great suprise I found that late at night it would show MLB playoff games live. Which meant I could get up at 2 or 3 in the morning and watch our Rockies playing halfway around the world. I can't say that no sleep helped out my work any but there was no way I was going to miss the playoff run. So whenever I think back about the 2007 Rockies, I'll always remember sitting in that hot, humid tent in the middle of the night wearing my Rockies hat, cheering for the home team.
