Studio Bead, the funky, little jewelry shop with a huge selection of loose beads you can use to make your own jewelry, has been located just around the corner from 32nd Avenue and Meade for the past three years. They have now come around the bend, taking their place directly on the avenue, and are having a Grand Re-Opening to celebrate the new digs. Stop by to pick up a couple of baubles to decorate your neck and check out the space.

Studio Bead carries designs by Denver artists, with a few exceptions from New Mexico and Minnesota, where Joy Bartlett, proprietress of the Studio, hails from. When asked for a few choice picks, Bartlett showed me some gorgeous gigantic costume rings by Tiffany Beach. Clusters of large semi- and non-precious rocks are sewn together to create a ring as appropriate for Mardi Gras as it is for enjoying a cocktail from the roof top lounge at a swanky soiree.
