O'Brien Family CD finalist for IBMA Graphic Award
Contributed by: Janette O'Brien on 9/22/2006

The O'Brien Family is happy to announce that their latest CD is one of three fianalists nominated for the International Bluegrass Music Association's

Best Graphic Design for a Recorded Project Award in 2006.

The CD was designed by local graphic artists and fans of the O'Brien Family Band, Heather and Greg Carr. Together, this husband and wife team designed this one-of-a-kind CD package that doubles as a real Board Game. The game represents the O'Brien's journey traveling around the United States for the past four years playing their music at bluegrass festivals. There are four perforated cartoon characters of Father Dan, Mother Janette, Brother Kyle and Sister Maura that are used as markers. A metal spinner is included. The players take turns traveling down the path on their way to the winning spot on the Grande Ole Opry.

The O'Briens Family Band will be in attendance as the winning package is announced at a luncheon September 28th, and also in attendance at the Grande Ole Opry's evening award ceremony. Visit their website to take a listen.
