Denver Community Federal Credit Union is proud to introduce
Kyle Johnson as the new spokesman for its youth program. Johnson has been a fullback with Denver since 2003.
The purpose of the program is to educate kids on the importance of sound financial management. Johnson claims, "It's critical for children to take steps towards financial literacy in the same way they take other steps in their educational processes."
To kick-off his involvement with the program, Johnson will be signing autographsJune 30, from 12 to 4 p.m., at Denver Community's downtown branch, 1075 Acoma Street. All members in attendance, including those who sign up at the event, will be entered to win a Denver Community jersey signed by Kyle Johnson.
Johnson spent his high school and college careers at the top of his class and values education and financial wisdom. When not on the football field, Johnson is studying for his MBA at Syracuse University and remains deeply involved in helping the local and international community. His partnership with Denver Community is an expression of his commitment to financial literacy.
Johnson states, "Gigantic steps and gains in knowledge often happen at the beginning of any learning process. That's why it's critical for young people to learn the benefits of sound financial management early on."
Bringing financial literacy to youth and adults alike is an important part of Denver Community's commitment to the city. Living out the credit union philosophy of "people helping people" has been a core value of Denver Community's since its inception in 1934. Originally begun as a credit union for city & county employees, DCFCU expanded in 2000 with a charter to serve the entire community. If you live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in the city and county of Denver, or have a family member that does, you can join today!
