CCU Women's Choir Sings: Rockies vs. Diamondbacks

Lakewood, Colorado - The Colorado Christian University (CCU) Women's Choir has been invited to sing the U.S. national anthem to open the April 4, 2007, Colorado Rockies game versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Wednesday performance and game begin at 1:05 p.m. at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. This is the final of three games in the Rockies's home opener this year.

CCU is a small liberal arts university developing a national reputation for excellence in the performing arts. The quality of its programs has gained the University accreditation with the National Association for Schools of Music-the national governing body for schools of music in higher education.

The Women's Choir is one of the primary vocal ensembles in CCU's School of Music. Specializing in several centuries of music written exclusively for the female voice, the group performs at regular concerts and numerous University functions.

The choir recently toured during the weekend of March 16-18 throughout northeastern Colorado and parts of Nebraska. The performances are part of the University's larger annual touring program, as the School of Music increases its visibility throughout the Rocky Mountains region. The University Choir, CCU's premier vocal group, recently returned from its Colorado tour to towns including Estes Park, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo.
