Stamer and Daniels: Player and Coach of the Year

February 27, 2008 - The Colorado Christian University Cougars (CCU), the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference East Division Champions, are headed into the postseason with even more steam, as senior forward Brian Stamer has been named RMAC Player of the Year, and the man at the helm, Dave Daniels, has been voted by his peers as RMAC Coach of the Year.

Stamer added another dominant season to his resume in 2007-2008, rolling off 10 double-doubles, and averaging 20.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. He collected five RMAC Player of the Week nods and unleashed for a season high of 35 points in the regular season finale against Colorado Mines on February 23, 2008.

Stamer entered his senior year as a Basketball Times Top 25 All-American, an NCAA Division II Bulletin Honorable Mention All-American, and the RMAC Pre-season Player of the Year.

Joining Stamer in postseason honors is CCU head coach Dave Daniels. Daniels guided the Cougars to a 13-6 conference mark, their best record since joining the RMAC and CCU's first ever RMAC East Division championship. One of the NCAA's up-and-coming coaches, Daniels has led the Cougars to two consecutive conference playoff appearances in only three seasons as head coach. A stalwart on the recruiting trails and expert in individual instruction, Daniels has bolstered the Cougar lineup from top to bottom, while developing some of the elite talents in Division II.

CCU shooting guard Rory Morgan also earned a spot on the RMAC All-East Second Team, while Justin Neuhaus and Nate Caulk were voted to the RMAC Honorable Mention Team.
