Dear Readers,

I would like to bring to your attention just another outstanding athlete that has come out of Denver/DPS.

Michael Gordy Jr. from North HS has been an outstanding athlete since high school. when he played for the Vikings he was picked Gatorade player of the year '04, he was also the leading scorer for two years, and also won the rebounding title his senior year. He was also picked one of five players as part of the All Colorado High School team '04, he also played in the Adidas tournament in Las Vegas, summer of '03 where he was second to Carmelo Anthony for most points scored. After Gordy graduated from High school he received a scholarship for basketball to UNC- Greeley since the start of his career he has been voted player of the week at least three times while he attended and played at UNC- Greeley, and he transferred to Lewis Clark State College (LCSC) in Idaho and has been player of the week for them also, but most recent was named Co player of year,MVP Division I Frontier conf. Player he lead his team the National tournament (NAIA) in Kansas City. While at LCSC his career points is already at 722, and that's just at LCSC, not including points from UNC. This is just a few things that stand out about this athlete. Gordy says "With the help of family, community and hard work you can do whatever you set your mind to." Gordy will graduate with a BA in Sociology this year 2008.
