Gordy, a 6-5 forward from Denver, Colo., averaged 26 points and 6.5 rebounds last week as the Warriors split a pair of games in the Southern Oregon Tournament. LCSC lost to Oregon Tech 82-67, but bounced back to stop Southern Oregon 95-65 as Gordy scored a career-high 34 points in the contest.
For the week, Gordy was 23-of-30 from the field and 5-of-7 at the foul line.
Gordy, a second-team NAIA All American last year, is averaging 21.3 points and 5.9 rebounds a game this season. Gordy is hitting 68 percent from the field, which is seventh in the NAIA, and is scoring average ranks 12th in the nation.

Michael Gordy Jr. from North HS has been an outstanding athlete since high school. when he played for the Vikings he was picked
Gatorade player of the year '04, he was also the leading scorer for two years, and also won the rebounding title his senior year. He was also picked one of five players as part of the
All Colorado High School team '04, he also played in the
Adidas tournament in Las Vegas, summer of '03 where he was second to
Carmelo Anthony for most points scored. After Gordy graduated from High school he received a scholarship for basketball to UNC- Greeley since the start of his career he has been voted player of the week at least three times while he attended and played at UNC- Greeley, and he transferred to Lewis Clark State College (LCSC) in Idaho and has been player of the week for them also, but most recent was named
Co player of year,MVP Division I Frontier conf. Player he lead his team the
National tournament (NAIA) in Kansas City. While at LCSC his career points is already at 722, and that's just at LCSC, not including points from UNC. This is just a few things that stand out about this athlete. Gordy says "With the help of family, community and hard work you can do whatever you set your mind to." Gordy will graduate with a BA in Sociology this year 2008.
