Colorado Youth Rugby Installs Executive Director


Colorado Youth Rugby President, David Doessel announced the hiring of JR Lapierre as the new Executive Director for one of the best established state based youth rugby organizations in the country.

J.R. Lapierre, a consultant with a background in events and project management, marketing, promotions, fundraising, sales, and business organization noted, " I am truly excited and honored to be chosen. There are many dedicated people that have made CYR the success it is today."

"While CYR has been in existence for 25 years, this is the biggest step that we've taken to move forward and make our league more organized and professional since we established a Board Of Directors eight years ago", said Doessel. "In order to create a stronger administrative structures in our state, the Board realized that we required a paid staff member to implement many of our goals, and enable CYR to continue to be one of the leading Youth Rugby programs in the nation. We are confident that JR is extremely qualified to help us accomplish this"

Lapierre was introduced to coaches today at the Rugby-O-Rama, as Colorado Youth Rugby kicked off the Girls U-19 fall season. Hosted by Ranch Rugby at Mountain Vista High School, the 2008 Rugby-O-Rama is a preseason tournament for high school aged girls with an instructive format to better acquaint players with the rules and strategies of the great game of rugby.
