Denver Outlaws Hope To Avoid Rattler Bite

The Rochester Rattlers make their first trip to INVESCO Field at Mile High to battle the Outlaws on Saturday, June 16th. This will be the first match up against the Rattlers, who are led by Casey Powell, Gavin Prout, Brodie Merrill andJohn Grant. This will be a terrific lacrosse match up of players on both offense and defense.

The Outlaws are 2-0 at home this season, earning wins againstSan Francisco on May 19th and Los Angeles on June 9th. Against theRiptide, attackman Brendan Mundorf scored five goals and added three assists to lead the Outlaws tothe home victory. Goalkeeper Trevor Tierney recorded a season-high 27 saves in the Outlaws'win,including 11 in the fourth quarter. He also held the Riptide to just four goals in the first half. For his performance, Tierney was named the MLL Goalkeeper of the Week . In addition, rookie attackman Drew Westervelt received the Cascade Rookie of the Week award. Westervelt had an outstanding MLL debut after scoring four goals with three assists en route to being named Bud Light MVP. The fourth overall pick in the Collegiate Draft, Westervelt helped the University of Maryland, Baltimore County reach the NCAA quarterfinals as a senior.

Come on out to INVESCO and check out the game in person. If you are unable to make it downtown, the game will be televised on ESPN2 Friday, June 22 at 2 p.m.
