Outlaws dominate the Pride, look to rip the 'Tide
Contributed by: Denver Outlaws on 6/2/2008

Last Saturday, the Denver Outlaws professional lacrosse team defeated the New Jersey Pride in a stunning 19-11 win at INVESCO Field at Mile High. This win moved the Outlaws to the top of the Major League Lacrosse Western Conference with a 2-1 season record.

MLL All-Star and Team USA player Ryan Powell made his debut in front of more than 8,000 fans. With 5 points for the night, Powell earned the Bud Light MVP honors. One of the other stars on the team, Brian Langtry, currently sits at second in the MLL points rankings. In his second year as a pro, Drew Westervelt has found his niche in Denver. Westervelt already has nine goals for the season in only three games!

In addition to all the stars on the field, there were many families at INVESCO Field for Family Night. After the game, families could have their picture taken with some of the Outlaws. Fans and families alike joined the team the next day for Sunday Sessions, one of two such events that will be taking place this season (the second Sunday Session is June 22). Fans were able to play catch with the players, get autographs, see the players' skills in a showcase, and many more fun activities.

Heading out to Los Angeles this week, the Outlaws will play the LA Riptide, whom they already defeated 22-12 in the season opener. But don't miss the Outlaws when they return home to the Mile High City on June 14 to play the San Francisco Dragons.
