Memorial Day weekend -- the first official summer celebration embodied by BBQs, sunshine, sports, and family time. Well, the Denver Gaels will be hosting a perfect Memorial Day Weekend event full of all these activities.
On Saturday, May 24 from noon to 5 p.m. at Salisbury Park, the Gaels invite any family interested in socially bonding aspect of Irish sport to come out for the day. There will be kids games, food, activities, and amidst all the family fun, the Gaels will pay their weekly Hurling Pub League for the crowd's entertainment.
Another special event involves some out of town guests! The Gaels are hosting numerous Junior A/Senior hurlers from New York City and New Jersey for a weekend sponsored by the Irish Rover.
One of the other matches to be played on Family Day at Salisbury Park is a competition between Irish hurlers and American hurlers.
Do the less experienced Americans have what it takes to beat the Irish at their own game? Come out and find out! There will also be a competitive match of Gaelic football played on the day as well.
After the Family Day, all are invited for the craic at the Irish Rover to be had late into the night. The Denver Gaels are excited to host NY/NJ hurlers for an eventful weekend and look forward to some quality family time on Saturday.
