Rockies ticket e-vendor has irked fans before
Contributed by: Eric J. Lubbers/YourHub.com on 10/22/2007

Evenue.net, the Long Beach, Calif., company that hosted the online sales of Colorado World Series tickets, has been irking sports fans as far back as 2004.

In a blog posting titled "eVenue Can Suck My B***" ( link) on Oct. 28, 2004, author sbutler summed up his frustration with the site after being denied tickets to a football game:

"Throwing together some stopgap, Band-Aid, horrible solution is never a good idea in the long run. If you haven't sat down and thought seriously hard about the planning of your program, then someone needs to take away your keyboard and replace it with a whiteboard and markers."

Alexa.com, a site that monitors Web sites reliability and global rank, listed evenue.net as "Very Slow (83% of sites are faster)." ( link)

By comparison, Ticketmaster.com, which handles online ticket sales for the Denver Broncos, rates as " Fast (62% of sites are slower)."

The company that owns eVenue.net, Paciolan Inc., also manages online ticket sales for, among others, the San Diego Padres, The Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Graceland Mansion Tours.

Some element of apology by the Rockies's organization is glaringly missing. Pointing a justified finger is not the whole story. Bad manners now added to bad performance by the Rockies's organization.

Another interesting story is that Paciolan is being sued by by Flash Seats for Patent Infringement. Flash Seats and its partner the Cleveland Cavaliers sued Ticketmaster on anti-trust grounds for allegedly trying to stamp out competition in the ticketing industry. Ticketmaster's acquisition of Paciolan is under mandatory government review so it does not yet own Paciolan. Hmm... Cleveland? http://www.ticketnews.com/Flash-Seats-Sues-Paciolan-for-Patent-Infringement0092507
