North Denver youth finish rookie rugby program

The Northeast Denver Youth Rugby program completed their first session for 15 youth ages 4-12 in a "Rookie Rugby" course over six weeks.

The participants were from neighborhoods in Cole, Curtis Park, and Whittier.

The kids learned the basics of playing tag rugby, while learning teamwork, communications and good sportsmanship.

At the end of the program, the kids celebrated with ice cream donated by owner Mike of the Curtis Park Creamery and each participant received a T-shirt.

Thanks to Val Kraemer and Theresa for sponsoring the kids and Aaron Slusky who did a tremendous job as an assistant coach.
