THE JANUARY 11, 2008 OPENING OF THE RITZ-CARLTON, DENVER
OFFERS THE "MILE HIGH CITY" A NEW LEVEL OF LUXURY
DENVER, Co. - January 11, 2008 - When the sun rises on January 11, a new era of hospitality and service will begin in the heart of Denver's stunning skyline, set against a backdrop of the majestic, snow-capped Rocky Mountains. The Ritz-Carlton, Denver is introducing the city to new heights of luxury service, elegance and sophistication never before seen at 5,280 feet.
Upon entering the hotel, guests will be greeted by a lobby rich in marble, dark woods and exquisite wall fabrics. Visitors of this 202-room property will find the main entrance located on Curtis Street, one-half block south of 19th Street. The Ritz-Carlton, Denver is located in the heart of the city's action, immersed in a cosmopolitan scene bursting with fine art, excellent cuisine and historical culture, all within Denver's widely diversified business community. What's more, Denver has over 300 sunny days per year, more than San Diego or even Miami. After a day of work or play, guests will enjoy fine cuisine at ELWAY'S, the hotel's signature restaurant.
"The Ritz-Carlton has long wanted a location in Denver, a city with great commercial growth, a thriving cultural community, and with easy access to all the recreational features of the nearby Rocky Mountains. We believe this hotel will be one of the most successful properties in our portfolio of outstanding city hotels", said Simon F. Cooper, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. The Ritz-Carlton, Denver is the 70th property in The Ritz-Carlton family, representing the company's continued and rapid global expansion.
The Mystique of this hotel lies in the joy of discovering the unexpected of Denver, its stunning landscape and its people. Featuring the most spacious guestrooms in Denver at a minimum of 510 square feet, the hotel fuses elements of classic design with contemporary features, which truly give visitors a sense of place. Rich reds represent Colorado's red rocks, dark finishes mimic the mountains and cooler blue tones remind one of the state's beautiful rivers and lakes. Meeting rooms are named for Colorado mountain passes and other design features are reminiscent of aspen trees that are so common in the city and mountains.
Visitors enter their room in the foyer with hardwood floors and city skyline views in the distance. Décor is perfectly placed with crisp, clean lines, soft colors of rust and subtle green that are gentle on the eyes. Guests will enjoy 400 thread-count Frette linens, featherbeds with down comforters, five-fixture bathrooms, plush Frette terry robes, flat panel, high definition LCD televisions, in-room cappuccino/coffee/tea maker, and iPOD alarm clock/radios with preset soundscapes and music.
Visitors selecting accommodations on The Ritz-Carlton Club Level, accessible only by elevator key, will enjoy spectacular views of the cityscape and the Rocky Mountains just beyond downtown. With one of the largest Club Level lounges of all Ritz-Carlton properties, it's the perfect place to enjoy your own dedicated concierge and exquisite food and beverage presentations each day.
For guests wanting a set of luxury wheels to drive around, The Ritz-Carlton, Denver will offer several choices. The Mercedes-Benz Key to Luxury package is available, where guests can choose from either the 2007 SL 650 or 2007 GL 450.
For guests who don't want to drive themselves, The Ritz-Carlton, Denver will offer access to a Rolls Royce Phantom to ferry them around in a five-mile radius of downtown.
Those choosing to walk will find that the hotel is just a short distance from Coors Field, the 16th Street Mall, the downtown financial district, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Colorado Convention Center and other major landmarks/venues.
The property also features 13,000 feet of meeting space, including The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom, a junior ballroom and executive boardroom. A full-service Spa is anticipating a spring 2008 opening. The adjacent FORZA Fitness Club is also available for guests use, featuring a full-size indoor basketball court, indoor lap pool, fitness trainers and the latest in cutting-edge cardio and training equipment.
Weekend rates will start from $249 per night for a Deluxe Room, while weekday rates will start at $349 per night for a Deluxe Room. Reservations can be made by calling 866-755-5798 or online at www.ritzcarlton.com.
ELWAY'S Restaurant
No visit to The Ritz-Carlton, Denver would be complete without experiencing ELWAY'S. With its lively, versatile bar, an array of luxurious seating, visitors are enveloped by a décor composed of natural Colorado materials including stone, wood and rich leather. Inviting fire features bring a sense of warmth and light to the restaurant. Glowing accents of contemporary glass and mirrors surround booths accompanied by floor to ceiling wine fixtures. The space is designed by The Johnson Studio of Atlanta and bears the name of Denver sports legend and NFL Hall of Fame Inductee John Elway, who still lives in Denver and is very active in the community.
With Chef de cuisine Ben Davison at the helm, ELWAY'S offers outstanding food across the menu, great wines at great prices and a comfortable, memorable and attentive dining experience. Signature items include hand-cut, aged USDA prime steaks, lobster, salmon and fresh accompaniments. The restaurant will also feature a seasonal raw bar offering up fresh seafood to patrons.
