Local travel agent wins trip to Tahiti
Contributed by: Ellen Keralla on 11/12/2005

Like the first Tahiti Travel Exchange last year, this year's version began on Nov. 2 with an all-day meeting for travel agents. Tahiti Tourisme Chief Executive Dany Panero welcomed the 125 travel agents, some of whom were already selling Tahiti packages, while others have yet to begin selling Tahiti & Her Islands due to the existence since only July 4 of three non-stop weekly Air Tahiti Nui from New York to Papeete flights.

After the presentations several prizes were given out to the travel agents. The grand prize winner was Ellen Keralla of Special Occasion Travel (www.specialoccasiontravel.com). She won a return trip for two to Tahiti , Manihi and Moorea. Also included is a 4X4 photo safari and a swim with the sharks and stingrays. When asked about the prize Ellen said “ French Polynesia is the most romantic place I have ever seen. I look forward to my return with my husband to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I also look forward to booking honeymooners here. This place is breath taking beautiful along with romantic. It is the best destination for a honeymoon or anniversary”

The travel agents visited the TuamotuIslands of Manihi and Tikehau. Both offer overwater bungalows with snorkeling from your room. A visit to Moorea, Bora Bora and the private island of Le Taha’a rounded out their itinerary. Honeymoon travel was on everyones mind.
