Eric J. Lubbers
Managing Editor lubberse@yourhub.com - On staff since 2005 I'm proud to call Denver home after spending my first 18 years in Yuma, Colo., on the Eastern Plains. I was educated by a steady diet of media (and in the halls of Chadron State College in Nebraska) and have found my niche in Denver's fantastic cultural scene. Non-journalism pastimes include photography, live music, DIY culture, deconstructing pop culture and hanging with my girlfriend/fellow Yuman Sarah and our puppy, Townes. |

Reporter - Jefferson County hubs grovesk@yourhub.com - On staff since 2005 I grew up in Dallas and Los Angeles and went to college at UCLA and UC-Berkeley as an English major. After college and a trip to Europe, I lived in the Ozarks of northwest Arkansas, where I learned how to milk a cow, make bread on a wood cookstove and salvage old houses for building materials. When I returned to civilization, my husband and I started our family. I have worked for weekly newspapers, monthly magazines and a Colorado book publisher before coming to work at YourHub.com. I live in Evergreen with my husband and the former Hardware store cat.Visit my blog about mountain living, where I frequently focus on the wildlife around my house. |

I live in central Denver with my wife and four young children who are threatening a coup but haven't yet decided who should lead it -- once they've decided whether to have fruit chews or cheese sticks for their snack they'll get around to toppling the patriarchy. Many years ago I graduated from Texas A&M University, and my peripatetic career has included stints as ski bum, bookstore manager, mortgage banker and stay-at-home dad. My hobbies include Ultimate frisbee and not standing in one place long enough that the children can tackle me. |

I'm a Fort Collins native though my family's roots are in Kansas (Newton, Kan. to be specific -- home of the Railroaders!). I graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2002 with a major in communications, which I've put to ample use since joining the staff here at YourHub.com. My hobbies include reading, exercising, listening to music, teaching my dog Johnny Utah new tricks and trying out new restaurants. |

I'm a sea-level gal hailing from a lifetime on the Great Lakes and who had a hankering for some serious elevation. In early '08, I packed up my cat and a U-Haul trailer, drove west and declared this great square state my new home. I live with a plant-crazed roommate in steal-of-a-deal apartment in very north Wash Park. I bleed green and white as a graduate from Michigan State University with B.A.s in journalism and German. I love photography, rec softball, traveling, Greek mythology, soccer, skiing and red wine. I hate Styrofoam, am allergic to deer hair and was once bitten by a squirrel. So that about sums it up: your basic Kristin-in-a-nutshell. |

It is inarguable: I do so much pride myself on my not-always-conventional (pretty goofy) characteristics. For example, I may be one of the few left who prefer to write with a quill. Weird? Maybe. Creative? I think so. Born in Denver, I feel fortunate to have been raised in both the Mile High City and Los Angeles, CA. After finally planting my feet firmly in Edgewater, I went on to receive a B.A. in political science from the University of Colorado Denver in 2007. Soon after, I landed my first writing gig as a legislative journalist covering the 2008 Colorado General Assembly. I very much enjoy jogging (especially around Sloan's Lake), writing music with my band and can often be found at a downtown Starbucks with my face in either a novel or a how-to book--that's if it's not in a cinnamon dolce latte. |

I am a Colorado native, born raised in the same house in Littleton (boring I know, but a great place to grow up). I graduated from CU-Boulder in 2006 with a B.A. in journalism. This is my second "real" journalism job out of college. I was previously a reporter at a community newspaper writing features, education and business stories. I found there are stories to tell every day, even as close as your own backyard. Aside from my working life, I'm enjoying my post-college life in downtown. In my free time I enjoy doing outdoor activities, including running (I'm one of those freaks who runs for fun), snowboarding (I'm still not very good considering how long I've been doing it) and biking (I just bought a cruiser and will ride it, despite what everyone keeps telling me). |

Although I was born in Manila, Philippines, I have been living in Colorado since I was 5, so I call myself a near-native. I have lived in different parts of this state – from the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado to the eastern plains. But the Denver area has been my favorite place to live and I enjoy hanging out downtown, seeing the art on Santa Fe and taking walks around Washington Park. You can find me most Thursdays at the Old Chicago on Broadway and Mineral playing trivia with my friends. I attended Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and the University of Denver, where I earned my bachelor’s in journalism and English. One of my life goals is to climb one of Colorado’s fourteeners. |

I was born and raised in Aurora, and, after living in Denver for a few years during and after college, I bought my first home in Aurora, just a few miles from the house I grew up in. My interest in creative writing in high school led me to pursue an education in journalism; I graduated from the Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and an English minor. I’m happily married – my wife, Melinda, and I tied the knot in December 2004. Our first child, Prahlad, was born in March 2007. I did my fair share of reporting in the Highlands Ranch area when I first joined YourHub.com, but these days I can be found in front of the computer screen laying out and designing the three weekly print editions for Douglas County – Castle Rock, Parker and Highlands Ranch. My hobbies include playing the guitar, writing poetry, reading fiction, collecting and listening to music and watching movies. |

Journalism has been my calling for a long time.
From High school paper and college paper to hometown paper in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, working my way up to managing editor. I've also done a bit of broadcast - local and network radio news, as reporter, anchor and hosting a syndicated talk show on business. I’ve been a senior producer at a national print and broadcast wire service and did some television production, too. I also do professional narration and editing for educational science programs and once took a job as an airport security screener right after the 9/11 attacks. The people stories we tell with YourHub.com portray what a community is at its heart better than anything I know - and the Web site gives you the opportunity to tell you own stories. I love doing the photography for my stories and for myself and also enjoy hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing and travel with my wife, Lee, in my off-work hours. We also enjoy gardening, cooking and reading. I sometime volunteer for good causes and plan to continue creative writing after my full-time news career. You can read my blog at http://denver.yourhub.com/~DanielsBlog. |
