Blog Entry 69 of 87 North Denver Doorbell
Greetings. I'm the former editor of YourHub.com and I use this blog to share what's going on in my 'hood and beyond. If you're curious, the North Denver Doorbell is the regular honking we hear in our neighborhood as motorists approach alley intersections or when they don't feel like getting out of their cars to politely knock or ring a doorbell.

Who cares about Iowa when late night's back?

A headline on rockymountainnews.com declares, "This is it -- the night everyone has been talking about all year."

Really? I've heard a lot more about post-holiday sales and Jay Leno, David Letterman and Conan O'Brien's return to late night.

Rocky Mountain News columnist Mike Littwin writes that about 300,000 Iowans are expected to participate in today's caucus. The rest (1.7 million) are busy sharing their favorite lines from last night's talk shows. He and the Associated Press also predict there will be no clear winners.

I am interested in the 2008 presidential election, eager to participate in the Colorado caucus and hopeful that Denver will shine at the DNC. However, I'm not convinced those who will be nominated are in the race yet or that the Iowa caucus will have much influence this year.

Forget "Who would you vote for?" How about "Do you care?"

Tell us your thoughts in the comment area below or e-mail comments@yourhub.com about Iowa, the earlier Colorado caucus, what you think of Letterman and O'Brien's beards or whatever is on your mind.

Where's Iowa? What's Late Night? Am I old? I miss my beard!!!

I care about beards. My husband's is like ZZTOP. Seriously, it really is. I'm waiting to see who shaves first. Dave or Conan.

I care about Iowa. I do.

I watched Leno last night for one reason: to see Mike Huckabee. He mentioned how he lost 110 pounds. He mentioned how he plays the bass guitar. He mentioned his "fair tax." So, I guess I got the best of both worlds. Then, I switched back to CNN.

I think I'm going to start referring to my beard as a "strike beard." Conan and Jay were just painful to watch last night. And is it just me, or does Robin Williams seem like the most impossible human being on earth to interview?
