Steve Shultz here. I am the YourHub.com community journalist representing the vast and sunny land known as Highlands Ranch. On April 19, my wife, Melinda, and I took our then 5-week-old son, Prahlad, for his first visit to a park (he was born March 14).

We decided to visit City Park, as Melinda and I used to live on Adams Street and 17th Avenue back in 2003 and frequented this park weekly. I must say, what with all the construction and all, City Park does not look the way it used to. In fact it's pretty torn up.

We started our walk at the bird pond and headed toward the south west side of the park, eventually going by the history museum. It was a beautiful day and flowers were in bloom.

All in all, I think he had a great time and he was on his best behavior. I'm sure if he could talk he'd say it was a blast. I think Melinda had the most fun, since she was awfully tired of being cooped up in the house for days.

Melinda looks great. Also, you'll be on the lookout for construction sites to observe very soon. Little boys love machine shovels. (I don't know about little girls, not having any.)
