Blog Entry 73 of 85 North Denver Doorbell
Greetings. I'm the editor at YourHub.com and I use this blog to share what's going on in my 'hood and beyond. If you're curious, the North Denver Doorbell is the regular honking we hear in our neighborhood as motorists approach alley intersections or when they don't feel like getting out of their cars to politely knock or ring a doorbell.

I want your pics from Obama, Clinton, Bush visits
Contributed by: Fairlight Baer-Gutierrez/YH   on 1/30/2008

Choo choo!

Unless you've been under a tree that this week's wind blew on your house, you're likely aware that Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obamaas well as Hillary Clinton's husband and daughter are making whistle-stops in Denver today.

Obama reportedly charged up a crowd at the University of Denver this morning and President Clinton and daughter Chelsea will be at the DU campus tonight to represent the New York senator.

We're looking for your photos and opinions of the Democrats' speeches. We'd also love a pic of you shoulder-to-shoulder with President Bush if you forked over the five grand to attend GOP U.S. Senate candidate Bob Schaffer'sfundraiser in Cherry Hills Village on Thursday. (He'll need it; the donate button on his Web site wasn't working when I checked it this afternoon.)

Who are you voting for? Who was best-dressed? Who had the best line? Share your political action throughout the 2008 election season. Take a cue from these YourHub.com users:
- Stan Dyertook some great photos at Obama's visit (link)
- Dianne Lorang writes that she's "newly inspired" after attending the Obama rally. (link)
- Karin Malchow, who attended the Obama and Clinton gatherings, writes "Obama may be playing the crowd just like any other candidate, but he plays them like a lover." (link)
- Once President Clinton took the mike around 9 p.m. the same day, Karin was feeling a little sleepy, and she suspects the same about the former president. (link)
- Irene Watts enjoyed people-watching at the Obama event. (link)
- DU student Raquel Villanueva got her peers' reactions after Obama's speech. (link)
- Sara Boilen somehow snuck past security -- and the snaking line -- and managed to tick off a few folks in the crowd while rooting for Obama. (link)

Post your words and photos, and we'll consider them for our Feb.7 print editions, which are delivered with the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post and available at hundreds of businesses across the metro area.

Trivia in return for your time:
-Hillary Clinton lists American Idol as her favorite TV show on her myspace page.
-Some 132 Facebook groups link Barack Obama to Osama Bin Laden under monikers as varied as "The next time someone tells me Obama sounds like Osama, I will shoot them" (45 members) and "1,000,000 People Who Find It Odd That Obama's Middle Name Is Hussein" (32 members).

Ha! Karin, I think you might enjoy Sara Boilen's posting. (Yet again, I've accidentally rated my own posting.)

My husband, a Republican, just called me, irate. "Why didn't you tell me Bush was in town?" I stammered that it was not a public venue; did he really want to go see him? "No, I'm caught in highway traffic again because the #@!* is in town. He's probably wasting more people's time and money diverting traffic than he's raising for that other #@*&!"
