Move over,
Nostradamus. Rock powerhouse
Steve Miller Band is the newly recognized soothsayer.
KOOL 105 producer
Ben LuMaye astutely paired an ESPN sportscaster's commentary on the probability-defying
Rockies with
Rock'n Me references to Phoenix, Arizona, and Philadelphia.
YOU HAVE TO LISTEN. (I never cap and bold.)
The Rockies beat
Philadelphia in the playoffs. Get it? The Rockies swept the
Diamondbacks, who are based in Phoenix, Ariz., to get to the World Series. Get it? Rock'n. Rockies. Get it?
This is Ben's latest creation playing on Denver's FM dial.
After the Rockies swept Arizona on Monday night, KOOL started playing another clever creation pairing sound from Colorado's win with bits of
Marvin Gaye and
Tammi Terrell's Ain't No Mountain High Enough.
That one was clever. The
Rock'n Me bit is simply eerie.
Nostradumus may have predicted plagues, earthquakes and wars, but who predicted the Rockies' trip to the World Series? Not TBS sportscasters and not Denverites in July. The Steve Miller Band did.
My thanks to KOOL DJ
Dan Mitchell for sending me the sound file.
