Harrison Ford to be at Wings Over the Rockies

Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Air and Space Museum today announced Harrison Ford as this year's honoree at its 6th annual Spreading Wings Gala taking place on Nov. 14.

Ford will receive the organization's distinguished Spreading Wings Award at the event honoring those who have dedicated their lives to flight and advances in aviation.

In addition to promoting his personal love of aviation through many of his films, including Star Wars, Air Force One, Six Days, Seven Nights and the Indiana Jones series, Ford is an accomplished pilot who generously gives his time to help support a variety of aviation-related organizations, including the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). Ford is a national spokesperson for EAA Young Eagles, which provides volunteer pilots to fly more than 1.4 million young people giving them a personal flight experience.

"We are honored to recognize Harrison Ford with the Spreading Wings Award at this year's Gala for his tireless dedication to promoting aviation and the aerospace community," said Greg Anderson, president and CEO of the Wings Over the Rockies. "His continued support of aviation-related organizations and nonprofits makes him the ideal recipient for this unique award."

The Spreading Wings Gala celebrates and sustains Colorado's distinguished leadership in aviation and space with proceeds supporting the Wings Over the Rockies Museum and the Spreading Wings Education Outreach program.

Past Spreading Wings Award recipients include Wings Over the Rockies founding board member Carl Williams, as well as Burt Rutan, Chuck Yeager, Steve Fossett, Eileen Collins, Emily Howell Warner and Patty Wagstaff.

The Gala will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum located at 7711 East Academy Blvd. The event will feature cocktails, dinner, a live auction and a special presentation by Ford.

Table sponsorships are available for $3,000, $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000. Individual tickets are available starting at $250 with a discount offer available to museum members. Sponsors and patrons will be invited to a special VIP reception with Harrison Ford.
