Local Entertainer Wins Western Album of the Year

Denver's favorite cowgirl singer and poet, Liz Masterson, won Western Album of the Year from Academy of Western Artists (AWA) for her latest CD, Roads to Colorado. This is the 14th year the AWA has celebrated all things western and cowboy. Liz was joined on the CD by her friend and Grammy award winning guitarist, Mike Dowling. Superb back-up by her Denver-based band-mates and friends on Dobro, mandolin, fiddle, accordion, and acoustic bass enhance Liz's sparkling vocals. Joining Liz on harmony were Jean Prescott and Timothy P. Irvin. Masterson heads the annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering at the Arvada Center each January. More information on booking Liz for a performance or to purchase Roads to Colorado CD, visit www.lizmasterson.com or call 303-433-4949.
