Gaylord Perry guest of honor at Legends Golf Tournament at The Sanctuary
Baseball legend Gaylord Perry has more than a trophy from his 1991 induction into the Hall of Fame. He has stories galore and a real heart for those less fortunate. A true baseball fan will remember Gaylord's controversial pitching method of adding some "junk" on the baseballs he served up from the mound.
On Wednesday, August 8th - Mr. Perry flew in from his hometown of Spruce Pine, North Carolina to pitch some spellbinding stories to the supporters of Volunteers of America's human service programs at Denver's downtown Chophouse. He was back in action the next morning at Colorado's most stunning golf course, The Sanctuary, where Volunteers of America holds its annual golf tournament, known as "The Legends." Each year a baseball hero joins VOA and their two major sponsors, ReMax International and the Colorado Rockies, at this incredible fundraiser.
In addition to teaching some young boys his renowned pitching method and signing more than a hundred baseballs AND a container of Vaseline, Perry delighted in raising money for the Volunteers of America auction with his own autographed jerseys. Thanks to Gaylord Perry's participation this year's golf tournament was a homerun!

I am happy that you had a successful fund raiser for VOA. The Sanctuary is beautiful.

That's great! I am not up on baseball, though. I was thinking this was the Olympic Diver who shares the name Gaylord...
