Celebrity Chili Cookoff competition fires up
Contributed by: Amina Mehmedagic on 2/20/2008

Join local media and sports celebrities Friday, March 7 as they heat up palates at the third annual Celebrity Chili Cookoff hosted by the Women's Bean Project and the Denver Press Club.

The event will feature Avalanche and Nuggets players, as well as local media personalities, who will compete for the Gold, Silver and Bronze Crockpot awards. Guests will be treated to chili samplings, and a cash bar will be available. In addition, guests will be able to purchase products created by the Women's Bean Project.

"We are so thrilled for the opportunity to raise money and create awareness for our program through this unique event," said Tamra Ryan, executive director of the Women's Bean Project. "Each woman we help through the Women's Bean Project in turn helps her community, essentially creating a ripple effect that encompasses her children, her friends, her neighbors and everyone in her life. As a result, we know that our impact is beyond measure."

The competition takes place from 6-8 p.m. at the Denver Press Club, located at 1330 Glenarm Place. Tickets are $20 at the door and all proceeds go to the Women's Bean Project (www.womensbeanproject.org).

For questions, additional information or to compete in the cookoff, please contact Holly Woodbury at 303-292-1919 x 114 or by email at hollyw@womensbeanproject.com.
