Massage Envy to Offer Free Massages in Exchange for Donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure at All 15 Front Range Locations on Monday, June 9th, 2008

WHO: Massage Envy, a leading nationally franchised massage company and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Denver and Colorado Springs Affiliates.

WHAT: MASSAGE FOR THE CURE - The second annual daylong fundraising event across the Front Range whereby massages will be offered free in exchange for donations. 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support breast cancer research initiatives and local programs focusing on breast health and breast cancer education, screening and treatment.

WHEN: MONDAY, JUNE 9th, 2008 - 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM
One-hour appointments will be available. Appointment lines open on:

WHERE: ALL 15 Massage Envy Locations:
Aurora-Southlands, Boulder, Broomfield, Cherry Creek North, Colorado Springs (Briargate and Stetson Hills); Denver Tech Center, Fort Collins, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, Parker, Southglenn; Thornton, Tiffany Plaza and Westminster

WHY: Massage Envy has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure in an effort to combat breast cancer. This initiative will raise dollars for programs occurring right here across the Front Range and will help those with little or no health insurance access the care and assistance they need to fight their battle with breast cancer.

According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an estimated 182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the U.S. during 2008. An estimated 40,480 women will die from breast cancer this year. It is estimated that 1,990 men will be diagnosed and 450 men will die of breast cancer during 2008.

Massage for the Cure has become a national event. In 2008, in addition to the Denver/Colorado Springs event, 10 other Massage for the Cure events are being held throughout the country including those in Atlanta; Chicago; St. Louis/Columbia, Mo.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Phoenix/Tucson/Flagstaff, Ariz.; Miami; Houston; Seattle/Tacoma; New Jersey (statewide); and North Carolina (statewide). Working in conjunction with numerous local Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliates, Massage Envy helped raise nearly $360,000 nationally to date to benefit this vital cause through these various Massage for the Cure events.
