Over 100 Valentine's Day cards for veterans were hand made with love and deep appreciation by children at Mount Carbon Elementary school in Littleton, in honor of National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week.

Bright red, pink and white Valentine's cards, some with elaborate poems and intricate drawings, were well received, especially since children had delivered them personally to the Denver VA Medical Center and Nursing Home. When they wished them "Happy Valentine's Day!" it really brightened their day. Hospitalized are veterans who have served their country, but now need care for their injuries and illnesses related to service.
