A 35-year-old Aurora man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft and resisting arrest about 11:55 a.m. Feb. 14 after he allegedly stole a purse from an office at the University of Colorado at Denver, 1201 Fifth St. A report said a UCD staff member pointed out the suspect to police who gave chase and caught him in the stairwell of a building at 1250 10th St. The report said the purse was recovered from a hallway and $50 in cash from the purse was recovered from the suspect.
AVALANCHE TICKETS STOLEN IN BREAK-IN
A Denver man lost four sets of Avalanche hockey tickets and a snowboard when someone broke into his 1999 Jeep Cherokee between 11 a.m. Feb. 13 and 8 a.m. Feb. 14 while it was parked in an apartment garage on the 1800 block of Arapahoe Street. The items were valued at $1,900.
MEN ARRESTED WITH CRACK COCAINE
Police arrested a 30-year-old transient man and a 20-year-old man Feb. 13 on the 2200 block of Arapahoe Street on suspicion of possession of crack cocaine. Police said undercover officers saw the two apparently break into a Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in an alley and then conduct a drug sale. After arrest, each was found in possession of suspected cocaine.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS STOLEN IN BURGLARY
A drum set, acoustic guitar and portable public address system were stolen from a home on the 2800 block of California Street between Jan. 1 and Feb. 14, when the theft was reported by the owner, a Littleton woman. A report said the items were valued at $2,250. There was no indication of forced entry.
SURVIVAL KNIVES STOLEN FROM GARAGE
A Denver woman reported the theft of 50 survival knives used in teaching courses from a garage on the 2900 block of Birch Street on Feb. 14. A report said the theft was believed to have occurred between 8 a.m. Feb. 7 and 6 p.m. Feb. 8. The knives were valued at $351.
