Police blotter: Woman hurt in purse snatching

WOMAN INJURED IN PURSE SNATCHING
A 41-year-old Denver woman suffered a broken arm as she was dragged across a parking lot during a purse snatching June 18. Police said the woman was about to enter her apartment on the 4400 block of East Jewell Avenue around 10 p.m. when a man pushed her, grabbed her purse and ran to his white pickup truck in the apartment parking lot. The woman pursued the man and as he attempted to drive off, was dragged. The suspect was described as a white male, 22 to 29 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 210 pounds with a heavy build.

LUNCH COOLER TAKEN IN ROBBERY
Police investigated a robbery reported by a 60-year-old Denver woman about 10:15 a.m. June 20. The report stated the woman was walking to work on the 1500 block of South Colorado Boulevard when she encountered a man sitting on the stair at a parking garage. The suspect grabbed the woman's lunch cooler and fled, causing minor injury when she was briefly dragged. The suspect was described as a black man, 22 to 29 years old, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with a medium-length afro hair style and no facial hair. The loss was estimated at $240.

MAN'S WALLET TAKEN IN STREET ROBBERY
A 28-year-old Denver man was assaulted and robbed about 1:50 a.m. June 20 on the 2200 block of South Monaco Parkway. Police said the man told police he was walking home when a suspect described only as a black male approached him, punched him in the face and took his wallet and fled. The loss was estimated at $1,060.

CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBED
Police investigated the robbery of a convenience store on the 1000 block of Sheridan Boulevard that occurred about 11:40 p.m. June 21. Police said a suspect identified as a white woman, 22 to 29 years old, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds came into the store and acted like a customer for about 20 minutes before placing her purse on the counter and telling the clerk "Give me the money, homie." She then fled with an unspecified amount of cash.

TWO ARRESTED IN HOME BURGLARY
Police arrested a 39-year-old Denver man and a 31 year-old Parker man in connection with a home burglary on the 1500 block of Quebec Street reported June 22. A report stated between 1:50 and 2:20 p.m., the suspects allegedly kicked in a south side door, ransacked the first floor rooms, stole items valued at $557 and fled eastbound on East Colfax Avenue. They were later arrested by officers.

FOUR BUSTED IN HOME BREAK-IN
Police arrested four people suspected in the burglary of an unoccupied home on the 3300 block of West Arkansas Avenue about 9 a.m. June 22. Police were dispatched to the home on a report of someone kicking in a door and a man and woman entering carrying beer. Police said they spotted two men inside the home through an open door, and a man and woman in a bedroom "putting their clothes on." The suspects arrested included a 22-year-old and a 33-year man, and another man and a woman, whose ages and addresses were not specified.

WOMAN FIGHTS OFF BIKE THIEF
A 45-year-old Denver woman fought off a would-be bike thief about 1:50 a.m. June 22 at a bus stop on the 700 block of South Federal Boulevard, and police later arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of attempted robbery. Police said the suspect tried to take the woman's bike and began to hit and kick her when she would not let go. The woman suffered minor injuries and fought off her assailant, who fled on foot and was arrested in an alley on the 3300 block of West Center Avenue.
