ENJOY A SATURDAY @ THE PARK
Contributed by: Thibault schram on 7/14/2008

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO BEGIN WORK ON MILE HIGH LOOP!

Denver Parks & Recreation and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) will begin work on the highly anticipated "Mile High Loop" in Denver City Park on Saturday, October 18 as part of a daylong celebration, Saturday @ the Park.

Volunteers are needed and may sign up for morning (8 a.m. - Noon) or afternoon (1 p.m. - 4 p.m.) shifts, helping to build the Mile High Loop or planting trees. Participants will be able to leave their footprints on the brand-new 3.1 "Mile High Loop" as runs are scheduled for noon and 4 p.m.

Saturday @ the Park is an opportunity for the Denver community to gather with family members, friends, and neighbors to celebrate nature, wellness, and a healthy lifestyle through multiple activities. Building, planting, celebrating, running, and simply being at the park will give attendees the chance to actively participate in the development of their city.

VOC works to enhance and preserve local natural environments, as well as encourage Coloradans to engage in active lifestyles. Saturday @ the Park is also being supported by the Colorado Health Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, The Kaleidoscope Project and The Park People.

To sign-up or for additional information, please contact Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, 303-715-1010 ext. 112 or voc@voc.org, and visit www.voc.org.
