Juneteenth celebration revived in Five Points

The annual Juneteenth event was reborn June 14 at the historical Five Points district, bringing back a tradition of music, food and dance and celebrating African-American culture. Juneteenth 2008: The Rebirth featured a parade beginning at Fuller Park on 29th Avenue and Williams Street, near Manual High School and festivities all day in on Welton Street, between 24th and 28th streets, in Five Points.
