Hall of Fame Connection
Contributed by: andrea waner on 7/14/2007

When the Pittsburgh Pirates come to town, my friends and I deserve to be in that suite! My great relatives are the Hall-of-Famers: Paul Waner and Lloyd Waner, known as Pittsburgh's Big Poison and Little Poison.
At Cooperstown, Paul and Lloyd have their own display, detailing their careers as outfielders and terrific hitters during the 1920's and 30's. Paul is a member of the exclusive 3,000 hit club. Legend has it that their nicknames originally were Big Person and Little Person, but when the Boys from the Bronx were visiting, the announcer pronounced their names, "Big Poissen and Little Poissen, " with that New York accent, and it stuck.
I am a huge baseball fan, and proud to be the namesake of two rowdy baseball players! Let us watch the game from that suite in honor of these Pittsburgh brothers!
Sincerely,
Andrea Waner
