Regis jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the home team Mavericks responded with two in the bottom of the second inning. Regis retook the lead in the top of the third inning on a single by Peter Whatley. However, the Mavericks took the lead again in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs.

Hanson was a perfect 2-for-2 in the game, while Gerard Mohrmann and Tyler Hageman were each 2-for-3. Dan Kozloski took the loss for the Rangers dropping to 6-3 on the season. Kozloski struck out five Mavericks in five innings, while giving up six earned runs.

The Rangers have now dropped four in a row and are 18-16 overall and 14-12 in the RMAC. The two teams will play the final game of the series tomorrow afternoon in Grand Junction. Brennan Bonati is the projected starter for the Rangers tomorrow.

The Rangers saw themselves trailing the Mavericks 11-3 going into the seventh inning. With two outs in the top of the seventh, Jordan Bruns hit a triple that scored Dan Kozloski and Etienne Materre. Bruns was knocked in on a Peter Whatley single to cut the Mesa State lead to 11-6.

The Rangers gave one run back in the bottom of the seventh, but would score five runs in the eighth to trail 12-11. Tyler Hageman rapped a two-run single to left field, while Dan Kozloski's two-run homerun was the last blow of the inning.

DURANGO, Colo.-- The Regis softball team's offense did not produce in game one as the Rangers fell to Fort Lewis 5-1. In game two RU finally started swinging the bat but a walk-off three run home run by Jenna Peters in the bottom of the seventh helped the Skyhawks grab the come from behind victory 8-7.

The Rangers ran into the top pitcher in the RMAC Cary Moone in game one. Coming into the game she led the RMAC in strikeouts at 13.26 per game and posted a 2.07 era in conference play. Moone was at the top of her game striking out six of their first eight Rangers she faced.

The Skyhawks grabbed the lead in the second on a sacrifice fly but the Rangers continued to battle at the plate and came up with a run in the third. A Lindsey Witty single followed by an error put her in scoring position. A threat to steal she stole third and a error on the FLC catcher allowed her to score.

Unfortunately, the Rangers had little luck the rest of the game managing three hits while Moone struck out 15 batters.

After a tough game one at the plate the Rangers found a way to manufacture runs early in game two. A Jamie Winsor led off in the second inning with a single while Jacki Martinez reached in the next at bat on an error. Chelsie Rademacher laid down a sac bunt to advance the runners and back-to-back singles by Mo McDaniel and Lindsey Witty gave Regis the early 3-0 lead.

A double and a single in the fourth for the Skyhawks put one run on the board but the Rangers found a way to increase their lead in the fifth and sixth innings. Alisa Heronema smacked her RMAC leading seventh triple and found her way home on a passed ball. In the sixth once again the bat's of Mo McDaniel and Lindsey Witty did the job as both drove in runs.

Fort Lewis cut the Ranger lead in half in the sixth on a two run home run by Jenna Peters but the Rangers pushed their lead to four again off the bat of McDaniel with a single.

However, the Skyhawks came through in the end. After their lead off hitter grounded out to begin the seventh inning FLC followed with four straight hits that scored two runs and the Ranger lead was just two. Jenna Peters made it five consecutive in her at bat as she hit her second home run of the game, a three run walk off shot.

Lindsey Witty swung the bat well as she was 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Mo McDaniel collected three hits as well with a double and three RBIs.

The losses put the Rangers record at 22-19 overall and 15-13 in the RMAC as they will look to get back on track tomorrow with a doubleheader against Mesa State at Fort Lewis, first pitch is scheduled for 11:00 am.

DURANGO, Colo.-- The Ranger softball team found themselves in jeopardy of dropping four straight but Tasha Garza came through with an RBI single in the eighth inning of game one to squeak out the 7-6 win over Mesa State. In game two the Rangers seventh inning rally came up short falling 4-2.

The Mavericks struck first scoring three runs in the first inning two of them as a result of a Ranger error. The Rangers managed to tie the game in the third inning. Emily Anderson pitch hit in the inning and came up with a big hit driving in two of RU's three runs in the inning.

Mesa State took the lead back in the bottom of the inning but scored just one leaving the door open for the Rangers who scored two more runs to begin the fourth. This time it was Chelsie Rademacher with a double through the left side that scored two runs.

Once again the Mavericks answered tying the game in the fifth. The Rangers took the lead in the seventh inning on a solo shot by Chelsie Rademacher but it was not enough as MSC led off the bottom of the inning with a solo shot of their own sending the game to extra innings.

Alisa Heronema was clutch in the eighth as she led off with a base hit and Amber Aragon-Autobee moved her into scoring position with a sac bunt. The next batter popped but with two outs Tasha Garza singled to left field to score Heronema which would be the difference in the win.

Kaitlyn Gentert was unflappable in the bottom of the inning getting the first two batters to ground out and earned her last out as the Mavericks batter stuck out looking.

The Rangers once again had struggles at the plate in their second game. The Mavericks scored two runs in the first and fifth innings as the Rangers did not put their first run on the board until the sixth inning.

Chelsie Rademacher hit her second home run of the day to lead off the sixth and give RU their first run of the game. Down 4-1 heading into the seventh the Rangers needed to mount a comeback and got production in the form of back-to-back base hits by Tasha Garza and Lindsey Witty. A ground out scored Garza but the final Ranger batter lined out to end the game.

Chelsie Rademacher was 3-for-6 on the day with two runs scored, a double, two home runs and four RBIs. Kaitlyn Gentert earned the win in game on her 11th of the season as she struck out four in eight innings allowing just three earned runs.
