Blog Entry 182 of 196 Dial 'T' for Tabitha
I'm a bicycling poet who lived in Parker for several years and worked at YourHub.com, covering Parker and Franktown for two years.

I am studying poetry at CSU in the Master of Fine Arts program ...

I hope you can post a comment or two and that you will enjoy my blogs.

Searching the Internet with GoodSearch makes cents

I've volunteered, when time, at Art from Ashes in Denver for more than a year. Art from Ashes uses creative therapies to facilitate expression, connection and healing for area youth (and we have adult workshops, too).

I recently got an e-mail from Catherine O'Neill Thorn, the executive director. It was the usual friendly greeting and offer to give me another small task.

Then I noticed something new under her signature: " Raise money for Art from Ashes just by searching the Internetwith GoodSearch: Go to www.goodsearch.comand enter Art from Ashes as the charity you want to support. Just 500 of us searching four times a day will raise about $7,300 in a year without anyone spending a dime!"
What what?, I thought.

I've enjoyed learning new ways of creating poetry and helping others through Art from Ashes. I haven't been able to schedule a visit to the office each week to donate my time to the organization for most of the past 15 months I've been involved in the nonprofit.

Sometimes, I have wanted to do more. And I think GoodSearch can help me feel like I continue to help out. As a grad student at CSU, I won't be able to visit the Art from Ashes office to do things like type up poems handwritten at The Spot.

It's not hurting me to use GoodSearch instead of Google. I'm going to tap away at a search engine anyway.

GoodSearch's success depends on getting the word out there. I hope you will consider using it to benefit Art from Ashes.

Thanks for the read.
