You see a lot of posts about restaurants.
Stan Dyer does a good job reviewing restaurants and his reviews have given me choices I have never thought of. I write about restaurant experiences my wife and I have. Others have given reviews. Restaurant reviews appear to be popular. The other day I was eating one of my favorite foods and I thought. "Why not give a review on chocolate chip cookies?" after all I write this blog to have fun.
I love chocolate chip cookies. I have been eating them all my life. There is nothing better than dunking a chocolate chip cookie in a glass of milk. I think my mother gave me chocolate chip cookies to me when she was breast feeding me. You could say I have a sixty-five year experience of chocolate chip cookie eating. When my sons were young I exposed the neighborhood kids to dunking chocolate chip cookies into a glass of milk. Imagine that! Seven years old and you just discover dunking cookies into milk.
The cookies I picked are every day normal chocolate chip cookies you find in the grocery stores. I selected Chips Ahoy by Nabisco, Chips Deluxe by Keebler and Chip Mates by Kroger (sorry, you won't find this brand in Safeway). I decided to stay away from bakery cookies because of the wide variety that can be found and I wanted to review cookies that are readily available in most grocery stores.
They are all priced around three dollars a package. Sometimes you can find them advertised for two for five dollars. I could not find any at Sam's Club. They have their bakery chocolate chip cookies but no packaged cookies from a major supplier.
All brands have the regular cookies and the reduced fat variety. I prefer the regular cookies over the reduced fat. However, since I am supposed to watch my fat intake I settle for the reduced fat variety. According to my taste buds I find that the Chips Ahoy by Nabisco is the number one choice. The cookie part tastes like a cookie and the chocolate chip melts on your fingers. The cookie part of Chips Deluxe by Keebler tastes too gritty for me. It has that sandy aftertaste. The chocolate chips in the Kroger Chip Mates appear to never melt. I never have the problem of melted chocolate on my fingers with this brand.
In conclusion, I pick Chips Ahoy as my number one choice and Chips Deluxe as my second choice with Chip mates coming in last. However, when in a bind I will eat any of the three brands. I love to dunk chocolate chip cookies into a glass of cold milk.
