Spring: A time of Awakening and RenewalSpring has arrived in its entire glorious splendor. The time has come to begin thinking of and/or planting crops, flowers, gardens, etc.
In this ever changing world of instant gratification, one often forgets that things take time. A book takes hours or even days to read and often occurs over months or years. Once that book becomes a movie, it usually takes place in less than two hours. Boy meets girl. They fall in love. Tragedy strikes and they are torn apart. Things are straightened out and they live happily ever after. Does this sound familiar?
Often life takes quite a bit longer than that. For example, let us look at crops. The farmer prepares the field for planting, sows the seeds, keeps watch and cares for the fields day and night and finally reaps the successful harvest (hopefully anyway).
Life follows a similar path.
One has goals, dreams, and visions for the future. Excitement builds, ideas flourish, a plan is formed, and steps are taken to realize the dream. Disaster, discouragement or disappointment strike, things have not gone as planned.
What to do? Forget it? Give up?
Regroup and come up with a new plan? Chart a new course?
Daily, consistent activity is needed to realize the dream. The difference between success and failure is comprised of all the little steps taken that add up over time. Every step taken regardless of how big or small is necessary for success, and yes even failure. Constant, consistent improvement is necessary. What steps will be taken today to get one step closer to the realization of the dream?
Time needs to be taken every day to care for oneself; adequate sleep, exercise, nutrition, play, work, time spent with friends, solitude, time spent with family, time spent following the dream, steps taken toward the dream, time spent in quiet contemplation. Breathe.
Repeat. Breathe. Not one of these is more important than the other. Finding the balance between all of these can be tricky and even difficult.
Unfortunately, progress is not noticed daily, weekly or sometimes even monthly. Stay the course. Have courage; listen to the inner voice that says, "I can do this".
Constant and consistent commitment is what it takes to realize those dreams. Remember, one is never truly alone. Do not be afraid to ask for help that is needed. Remember the old saying, "When the student is ready the teacher appears"? Ask for guidance, motivation, determination, inspiration, the strength to carry on, and whatever else is needed. It will be given. One only has to ask and receive. Sometimes that can be the hardest part. Set the intention, ask for what is wanted, be open to receiving, and allow abundance to flow.
Time is going to pass anyway. It speeds up every year, or so it seems. Stay the course, keep the dream in sight. Prepare the field of your dreams, sow the seeds in your consciousness, take steps every day to make these dreams a reality, continue to step up to the plate to bat. Consciously create. All of these steps add up to successfully achieve the goal.
