General Info:
Swallow Hill is again presenting a music lesson at Red Rocks as part of the Film on the Rocks 10th anniversary and our 30th. Our goal is to support the local and regional music community and promote the idea that everyone can and should play music. Last year we exclusively taught 2 guitar songs. We had 35 teachers and such notables as Otis Taylor, Rich Moore, and Chris Daniels.
This year we are going to allow any instrument to participate. We will teach the audience to play 2 simple songs. So we are teaching people who already know how to play with the goal of getting 8,000 people to sing and play along.
We need would love for you to participate in the lesson and giant jam at the end from the stage at Red Rocks.
Please pass along the word to your students, friends, and fans. Anyone can bring any instrument they know how to play at a beginner level or better and participate in the lesson. It is $10 for patrons to get into the event because the lesson is followed by the movie "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."
Media: KBCO is covering the event and promoting the musicians. TV channels Fox 31 and The Deuce will be doing lead up promos and filming live the day of the lesson. There will be additional promo opportunities at Twist and Shout, KBCO, and FOX 31.
Follow Up Packet: We will be sending out a follow up packet with the lesson plan, the songs, where you park and load-in, and time schedule.
RSVP: Please RSVP to Michael Schenkelberg the Music School Director at Swallow Hill if you would like to be part of the lesson and jam. Include:
