Swallow Hill additions: Grant Gordy & more


Swallow Hill Music is pleased to announce the additions of two shows to their late fall concert lineup for December 12. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 23 and will be available at www.swallowhillmusic.org (now with no processing fees) or by calling (303) 777-1003 x2.

Grant Gordy Quartet CD Release Party w/Bee Eaters
Saturday, December 12 at 8 p.m.
Join guitarist Grant Gordy (David Grisman Quintet), mandolin player Dominick Leslie, fiddler Alex Hargreaves and bassist Ian Hutchison as they celebrate the release of Grant Gordy at Swallow Hill Music. The CD features Leslie (Missy Raines and the New Hip, The Deadly Gentlemen) on mandolin, Hargreaves (Mike Marshall's Big Trio, Darol Anger's Republic of Strings, David Grisman Quintet/Bluegrass Experience) on fiddle, and special guests Paul Kowert (Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers, Mike Marshall's Big Trio) on bass, Jayme Stone on banjo, and David Grisman on mandolin.
Opening the show are the Bee Eaters, featuring members of Crooked Still, Darol Anger's Republic of Strings, Tony Trischka, The Biscuit Burners and the David Grisman Quintet. "Their brilliant bowing and banjoing, the mellifluously magnificent mallet work, and impeccably impressive ensemble work leave me breathless," says Tony Trischka.

The Lovely and Talented & the Matt Skellenger Group

The Lovely and Talented fuses international influences of sambas, boleros, Gypsy swing, Morricone/mariachi, American folk and blues, featuring singer/guitarist JT Nolan, singer/pianist Kate Shoup, drummer David Petry and electric bassist Matt Skellenger. The Matt Skellenger Group is an otherworldly jazz experience featuring Skellenger on bass is an otherworldly jazz experience featuring Skellenger on bass, Glenn Taylor on pedal steel guitar, Dave Miller on percussion and electronics, and Andy Skellenger on percussion.
