The Haps Edition
If you're in south Denver, here's a glimpse of a few of the happenings you might want to consider plugging into you social schedule.
The big one this weekend of course is the annual Cinco de Mayor celebration - one of the largest and some say, the best in the country.
It begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and you can find more, including an event map here:

The arts
The Museo de Las Americas is pleased to announce its spring exhibition,
Space Invaders, now through June 8.
Space Invaders explores the space we live in and how it has changed both physically and culturally. Landscapes have shifted and people continue to explore the limits of their boundaries. Other's territory has always seemed fair game to early explorers to contemporary developers who have blindly settled into areas, creating the next hybrid of space. Artists, as space creators/invaders, have pushed their boundaries to include public environments as potential canvases.
By doing this, creative acts of intervention and gorilla performances become analogous to the colonizer that they speak about. The borders of their work, as the ideas that they stir, become mixed with real life and the issues of the day. The artists in this exhibition are a sampling of this new breed of artists that have blended physical, aesthetic and social questions to create multidimensional results.
Museo de Las Americas, 861 Santa Fe Drive.
