Description:

DENVER-The Women's College of the University of Denver is hosting an open house for Latina women looking to earn a bachelor's degree or certificate. The event, Tu Vida. Parte II, will highlight Latina scholarship opportunities. It will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chambers Center for the Advancement of Women, 1901 E. Asbury.
According to Lynn Gangone, Ed.D, dean of The Women's College, Latina's wanting a higher education are often balancing work and family.
"Many Latina's feel they can't commit time or money to attend college," Gangone says. "By pursuing the next level of education, Latina women can benefit their families, their communities and themselves."She added that Latina's considering a higher education will find The Women's College a unique women-focused learning environment.
Several current and former Latina students will share their inspirational stories, as well as be on hand to answer questions.
The Women's College offers baccalaureate degrees in business administration, communication, information technology studies and law & society. Certificates are also offered in entrepreneurial studies, philanthropic studies, conflict management studies, gender and women's studies, information technology studies, leadership studies and writing.
