Members of the Denver Tech Center Rotary Club that meets at Glenmoor Country Club on Tuesdays at noon celebrated their 10th anniversary on Sunday, June 10 with a Caribbean-themed dinner at the Willow Creek clubhouse.
The club was established by the Denver Southeast Rotary Club when some members decided they wanted a noon meeting instead of an early morning meeting. When the club started there were more than 40 members. Several charter members are still active in the club including
Sally Shuler,
Larry McLaughlin and
Steve Tillis.
The Denver Tech Center Rotary Club is small but mighty. They have devoted a huge amount of time and resources to the Dominican Republic. The club pays salaries at a vocational school for the deaf, provides school lunches at a school for undocumented children and has purchased more than 800 bio-sand water filters that will supply clean drinking water for 50 years.
