It Takes DetermiNation to Find Cures

Determi Nation was born out of a program called Charity Runner, which began in 1996 by an individual in the American Cancer Society's Illinois Division who wanted to run a marathon in memory of a friend he had recently lost to cancer. Because of the program's rapid growth, the Society decided to expand this initiative nationwide and to rebrand it to include all types of endurance athletic events.

While raising money to support the American Cancer Society's efforts to fight cancer and save lives, Determi Nation team members receive numerous benefits to help them achieve their personal victories, including free team training, social opportunities, race weekend amenities, mentor and fundraising support and more.

Whether you're running a full marathon, a half marathon or doing a marathon relay race, we want you to be a part of Determi Nation! All members receive free race registration for the Denver Marathon, free online training provided by Training Peaks, race weekend VIP amenities, exclusive Determi Nation training shirt and race day singlet provided by Saucony, personal fundraising web site, tips and tools to get you started and the opportunity to participate in honor or memory of loved ones. Reserve your spot for the 2009 Denver Marathon today! Visit www.determinationdenver.com for more information and register today.

The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation's largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing nearly $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.
