WOMAN KNOCKED OUT, HUSBAND ARRESTED
A 46-year-old Denver man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault July 12 after he allegedly struck his 39-year-old wife over the head with a broomstick during an argument, knocking her unconscious. The incident occurred about 7:15 p.m. in a residence on the 600 block of South Navajo Street.
WOMAN INJURED BY THROWN TROPHY
Police arrested a 40-year-old Denver woman on suspicion of aggravated assault July 11 after she allegedly caused injury to her 32-year-old pregnant sister during an argument at a home on the 5500 block of Eagle Street. Police said the 40-year-old woman threw a wooden trophy against the wall, which bounced off and struck the victim in the face, causing an abrasion above her left eye.
MAN BUSTED FOR COCAINE POSSESSION
Police arrested a 50-year-old Denver man on suspicion of possession of cocaine at about 10:40 p.m. July 11 on the 1000 block of East Colfax Avenue. A report stated the man was detained after he was allegedly seen drinking alcohol in the back of a vehicle. A search by officers revealed a quantity of suspected cocaine in a plastic bag in a pocket.
BUSINESS BURGLARY PROBED
Police investigated the burglary of Accesorios and Tires La Sierra, 560 S. Federal Blvd., on July 11. Between 4:20 and 4:30 a.m., someone cut a chain link fence to gain entry and pried open a large storage unit and stole property valued at approximately $9,000. A security window to a separate office also was cut, but nothing wasstolen. A witness reported seeing two figures in an adjacent alley, but no descriptions were given.
HOME BURGLARY INVESTIGATED
Police investigated the burglary of a home on the 4800 block of North Gray Street on July 11. Between 6 p.m. July 10 and 9:30 a.m. July 11, someone removed a south side screen window and stole unspecified items before fleeing through a front door.
WOMAN'S FACE CUT WITH NAIL CLIPPERS
A 35-year-old Denver man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault July 12 after he allegedly threw nail clippers in the face of his 34-year-old wife, causing lacerations. The incident occurred about 11:40 p.m. outside a residence on the 3800 block of North Colorado Boulevard. A report stated the woman went to a hospital because the lacerations required stitches.
MAN ROBBED BY QUARTET
Police investigated a street robbery reported at about 6:30 p.m. July 12. A 56-year-old Denver man told police he was walking near the intersection of East 29th Avenue and Pontiac Street when two men and two women pulled up in an Oldsmobile Bravada. The victim told police the suspects grabbed him by the neck and demanded his money. The victim surrendered about $60 in cash and ran when the suspects demanded his wallet. The suspects drove away on Pontiac Street, according to the report.
BUSINESS BREAK-IN REPORTED
Police probed a burglary at Mouse Trap Storage, 4200 N. Gaylord St., that was reported July 12. Between 5 p.m. July 11 and 7 a.m. July 12, someone cut the lock on the front door to the business office and stole items valued at $418.
