CAR WASH HEIST GOES WRONG WITH CRASH
Four unknown suspects attempted to steal cars from a Royal Wash car wash location at 6900 Leetsdale Drive at about 7:15 a.m. June 27, according to police reports. Police say the suspects entered the car wash and ordered an employee to give them the keys to the vehicles at gunpoint. After telling them the keys were in the vehicles, the employee was reportedly forced into a closet. The suspects attempted to steal one of the vehicles but crashed it into the side of the building. Police said they then piled into the vehicle in which they arrived and fled in an unknown direction. In total, police said, the suspects are wanted for robbery, felony menacing, theft, kidnapping and criminal mischief.
MAN BEATEN IN FRONT OF HOME
A 24-year-old Denver man was beaten in front of his home on the 2900 block of South Federal Boulevard, according to police reports. Police say the man left his home at about 9:20 p.m. June 26 and was talking on his cell phone when an unknown suspect told the man to "get off your phone." When the man didn't comply, the suspect reportedly punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground and breaking a tooth out. The suspect reportedly continued beating the man while he was down until the man was knocked out. Police said the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
