STABBING, VEHICULAR ASSAULT AT POKER PARTY
Police arrested a 22-year-old Littleton man on suspicion of aggravated assault after an incident at a poker party at a residence on the 400 block of South Perry Street on July 5. At about 3:05 a.m., police said, the suspect was in a verbal altercation with the home's resident and left. He reportedly returned shortly thereafter, kicking the door in and stabbing the resident, a 24-year-old male, in the wrist. Police said the suspect then fled, got in his car and drove onto the lawn of the residence, hitting another man, a 27-year-old. Police arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody. During the altercation, he had suffered a stab wound to the stomach and was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and held for investigation.
ROBBERY, KIDNAPPING SUSPECT ARRESTED
Police arrested a 25-year-old Denver man on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping after an incident on July 6, according to police reports. Police say the suspect approached two women, 29 and 24, in their car at about 12:30 a.m. In a parking lot on the 4800 block of West Kentucky Avenue. According to reports, the suspect entered the vehicle and pulled out a gun and demanded to be driven to Wolf Street. Police said at the destination, the suspect took the younger woman's wallet and fled on foot. Police were able to apprehend the suspect after setting up a perimeter and he was positively identified by the two women.
MAN ARRESTED FOR GUN THREATS
A 26-year-old Denver man was arrested after threatening two other residents at his home on the 1500 block of South Clay Street with a gun, according to police reports. Police say during a verbal altercation, the suspect pulled out a gun and threatened another resident, a 55-year-old Denver man. That man and a witness were able to wrestle the gun away from the suspect and detain him long enough for police to arrive. Police arrested him on suspicion of felony menacing.
BURGLAR CAUGHT IN ACT
A burglar helped himself to a rather mundane haul after entering a home on the 100 block of South Sherman Street on July 8, according to police reports. Police say the suspect, a 43-year-old transient man, entered the residence through a window. Inside, he took some drinks from the refrigerator, a jar of change, a video game and a book. One of the residents, a 39-year-old man, caught the suspect and forced him from the home. Police said when he was forced out, the suspect became violent and attacked the man, and that the man hit him with a lamp stand in self defense. Police lfound the suspect near South Lincoln Street and East Maple Avenue and arrested him for burglary.
