A Douglas County native,
Aspen Walker lives in a colorful and creaky old house in Sedalia, with her husband (a gifted and brilliant musician and guitar teacher), and two beautiful, witty daughters.
Walker is pursuing a Masters of Library and Information Science at Emporia State University's
School of Library and Information Management. She volunteers for the
Douglas County Libraries Books-by-Mail program and the Indian Park School House Association, and is a 2007 graduate of the
Leadership Douglas County program.
Libraries, reading, writing, painting, making music, and fooling around with computers are among her favorite pastimes. Walker is committed to the promotion of public libraries, lifelong learning, community building, intellectual freedom, free speech, free and equal access to information, open space, and the wonders of kindness.
