Angela Kumagai, a senior at Denver's Thomas Jefferson High School, has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship by the Denver Tech Center Rotary Club. Angela will attend CU-Boulder in the fall, studying pre-law.

Angela is the outgoing public relations chairman for the Thomas Jefferson Interact Club and the outgoing travel coordinator for the DECA team. She has gone to the state DECA competition twice. She is senior class vice president and has played field hockey for tour years. Outside of school she is involved in the Japanese American Citizens League. Angela has maintained a better than 4.0 grade point average throughout her high school career.

Interact is a service club for young people ages 14-18 created in 1962 by Rotary International and established in more than 100 countries. The clubs are self-governing and self-supporting giving Interactors a chance to develop leadership skills while learning the value of good teamwork. Denver Tech Center Rotary sponsors for the Thomas Jefferson club are Sherry Hanson, Rob Packard and Dana Arell. Danny Showers is the Interact Club's advisor.

The Denver Tech Center Rotary Club meets on Tuesdays at noon at the Glenmoor Country Club. For membership information visit the DTC Rotary website, http://www.dtcrotary.org or contact Hilton Martin at hiltonmartin@yahoo.com.
